Liberty 4th of July Cupcake Painting

Sorry I've been out of commission for a while preparing for our son's homecoming on Friday.  He has been in Spain for 9 months teaching English.
I did have time to finish this little painting which is up for auction on eBay right now.

What a "sweet" way to help celebrate the 4th of July! A yummy milk chocolate cupcake is topped with fluffy marshmallow cream frosting and patriotic sprinkles. The American flag is the perfect topper for this patriotic dessert! A cute red and white dotted ribbon is wrapped around the edges and tied in a bow at the top.

How do you decorate for the 4th of July or do you decorate for the 4th?

Beekeepers Cottage Folk Art Painting

Recently a customer suggested that I paint a beekeeper's cottage.
I have been painting for over 30 years and there are days that I fear my ideas will run dry and I'll wake up and stare blankly at my canvas. Thankfully between my imagination and wonderful ideas from my customers, that's not happened.
I've listed "Beekeeper's Cottage" on eBay.

Iris and Floyd live in the Beekeeper's Cottage at the top of the hill in the charming village of Asbury. Floyd loves the buzz of the bees as he observes his hives and extracts the honey. Iris stocks the pantry with the liquid gold and stands back to admire the handmade labels she applied to the jars that morning. The jars are topped with red and white polka dot fabric tied on with jute. Thoughts of her "Honey", Floyd, and the many bee stings she has applied salve to over the years puts a smile on her face and love in her heart!

I'm a collector of ideas, peoples names, village names, etc. and I keep them in a little notebook.  Don't be shy if you'd like to share something to add to my little book of imaginary places and the people who live there.  I would like to thank all the readers and customers out there who have freely shared in the past.  I'm truly grateful!

Painted Furniture

Miss Mustard Seed is hosting "Furniture Feature Friday".  So, I decided to share some of the pieces of funiture that I've painted over the years for our home.

Cabinet in our dining room:
Sorry about the Christmas decorations, but this is the table that I painted to match the above cabinet.
Side view of the cupboard in our kitchen:
Front view of the same cupboard:

Closeup of the cupboard at Christmas:

This is not exactly a furniture piece, but it's a faux fireplace that I painted in our living room as well as the pediment above it:
Closeup at Christmas:

I've got lots of pieces still to paint and feel the need to get started after seeing these photos once again.  What have you painted lately?  Stop by Miss Mustard Seed's blog to get some great furniture painting ideas.

New Apron Projects and a New Halloween Cupcake Painting

A week ago my husband, daughter, son in law, and myself took a trip to Wichita, KS to visit the Paramount Antique Mall.  It was well worth the trip!  In all my excitement I forgot to even remove my camera from my purse and use it!  Take my word for it though, if you are in the area make sure to stop in and be prepared to browse for hours.  During the 4 hour trip to Wichita, I crocheted the apron in the picture above and wore it the next day while shopping.

This week while watching t.v. at night, I crocheted this little number:

I've also been very busy painting this little cupcake and I'm sorry to say to anyone who is interested, this painting is already sold.  I will, however, be listing the print in my eBay and Etsy stores this evening.

Twyla couldn't wait for that first tasty morsel when she saw this delightfully tempting treat!

What have you been working on lately?
